Frequently Asked Questions

  • Any personal or training info here

  • My office is located inside the Restoration Counseling building at Rock and K-96. The building is tucked into the office complex across from Sam’s Club.

  • My office hours are...

  • I see individuals (age … and older), couples (married or not, of any combination of gender or sexual preference), and families (youngest attending member must be 10 years or older). Marriage and family therapists are distinct in that we are trained to think very systemically. By that I mean that I am always considering all the different parts of your world that might, in some way, contribute to what brings you to therapy. All your relationships will be important to me, but they do not have to be the sole focus of our treatment together.

  • When you arrive, help yourself to coffee, tea or water and have a seat in the lobby and I will come get you at the start of your session. We will take care of any payment or scheduling questions together. While there are other clinicians in the same office suite with me, I am the sole owner of my practice. I am not equipped to offer immediate attention to phone calls or emails. I do all my own scheduling and direct contact with my clients and I make a commitment to be available to my clients and we will discuss this more in the first session so you feel comfortable with how to contact me.

  • A therapy hour is 50 minutes. The first session is called the intake where we will discuss all the paperwork and I will tell you a bit about how I do therapy, allowing for any questions or concerns you might have. In the intake, our time discussing the actual reason you are coming to therapy now might feel brief or like just the highlights. In the next couple of sessions, we will spend time understanding the reason you are coming to therapy now in much greater detail and create goals together. After that, we start working toward those goals!

  • Yes! I understand that being in person for a session may not be the best choice for everyone. I offer video sessions through a secure link that you can schedule just like you would an in-person appointment. My license allows me to treat clients in any part of Kansas, so if you live outside of Wichita, this might be a great fit for you.

  • This is something we will discuss more specifically in our first session together. I check my voicemail every day and will respond within 24 hours if you need to talk with me. You will have access to a secure portal where you can message me or confirm scheduled appointments. I cannot manage crisis situations from the provided number you will have. If you have an emergency, please call 911 or 988, the new mental health emergency line.

  • Item descriptionI am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare Commercial, Aetna Commercial, ProviDRs Care, Sunflower, Ambetter, Aetna Better Health, and UnitedHealthcare Community Plan. If you plan to use your insurance, it is your responsibility to understand your mental health benefits specific to your plan (ie. copays, deductibles, etc). If you do not have insurance or want to self-pay, my rate is between $125-$165 depending on the session type.

  • Complete the contact form letting me know you are interested in starting therapy with me or give me a call. I will reach out within 24 hours if M-Th to set up a free 15-minute phone consultation. If you submit the form Fri-Sun, I’ll call you back on Monday. I am not the right therapist for everyone, so this gives us a chance to make sure we are a good fit or for me to provide referrals that will better meet your needs. If we decide to schedule an intake, the first appointment, I will send you an invitation to create a secure portal where you will find all the paperwork to get us started.
